First guitar lesson is FREE! This initial lesson is an opportunity for the new student and teacher to get to know each other musically, and to make sure they both feel good about working together. Learning a musical instrument requires a commitment to practice and can be taught in a number of ways. Of course, practicing is a lot of fun when you’re learning music you really like!
I only want to work with students I feel I can help to reach their goals for the guitar. I teach music basics using many styles of music, such as folk, blues, country, and popular music. I am not knowledgeable about certain styles, such as heavy metal or hip-hop, and won’t be taking on students who are only interested in those types of music.
I offer both private and group guitar lessons (from beginners to intermediate level) in Thayer and in West Plains. Please contact me for details.
Private lessons are taught in 30-minute classes, preferably in eight-week blocks of time. In other words, you should plan on committing to a weekly lesson for eight consecutive weeks.
Group lessons are for beginning students, and the classes last 45 minutes. I offer two levels of beginning lessons, so you could take sixteen weeks of lessons at group rates. All group classes must be pre-paid for the entire eight-week session.
Another option is taking lessons with a partner. If you and a good friend are at similar skill levels (both beginners, for instance) and will commit to an eight-week block of lessons, you can share your weekly lesson at reduced rates—and have a practice “twin” to study with!
Private lesson rates: $12 per 30-minute lesson
(Prepay for an eight-week session for $80 — save $16)
Twin (two-in-a-class) lesson rates: $9 per 30-minute lesson per student
(Prepay for an eight-week session for $60 per student)
Beginner’s class group rates: Block of eight, 45-minute lessons for $60 (per student)
