I’m currently working on creating a CD of several of the songs I’ve written over the past 30+ years, and I expect to have my CD available later this summer.
Once it’s available, I’ll add samples of my songs to my website, so you can hear them.
Jon comes by his love for music honestly, having been raised in a musical household. His mother, Nita, was an elementary-school music teacher and church choir director in Dallas, Texas. While teaching in the Dallas Independent School District, she even wrote the theme song for the Dallas school district, “Make Every Kid a Winner.”
Jon started his musical training with piano lessons in elementary school, then switched to guitar in his early teens. He was in both school and church choirs throughout his school years and began writing songs when he was 16.
Jon married his teenage sweetheart, Susan, in 1970, and they have two grown sons and three beautiful grandchildren. Putting his musical aspirations on the back burner for many years to work and raise his family, Jon has been self-employed for the past 20 years, writing educational patient newsletters for medical professionals throughout the U.S. and Canada. He is now accepting select students of all ages who are interested in learning how to play the guitar.
Jon’s teaching philosophy is to meet with prospective students, find out their musical goals for the guitar, and make sure that his teaching methods can help each student attain those goals.
